Dulbecco’s Modified Eagle Medium –DMEM (Dulbecco’s Modified Eagle Medium) is developed on the basis of MEM Medium. Compared with MEM Medium, the content of amino acids is increased by 2 times, and the content of vitamins is increased by 4 times. Non-essential amino acids, trace iron ions and sodium pyruvate was also added. The DMEM culture medium was originally designed with a glucose content of 1000mg/L (low glucose type) and later developed with a glucose content of 4500mg/L (high glucose type), which is now widely used in the culture of various cells.
